Urban Planner John Kirwan rents a desk at Enniscorthy Enterprise Centre for his hybrid role

We met with John Kirwan who works remotely from Enniscorthy Enterprise Centre a couple of days per week.

John is an urban planner with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. He spends two days per week working in Enniscorthy Enterprise Center in County Wexford and the other three days per week in the office in Dublin.

John says it is important to have the right working environment and for him “The Enterprise Centre offers privacy and independence. You don’t get the same interruptions that you normally do at home.”

He also gets to enjoy the life benefits of removing his commute two days per week, “I’ve got a five-year-old son. By working remotely, I get the opportunity to bring him to swimming lessons occasionally or drama. I get the chance to bring him to school every Thursday morning. On occasion, I can play squash at lunchtime. So the life benefits are many and varied to use the Enterprise Centre out of my own net salary because of the increased productivity that I can get by doing my job and meeting my deadlines. In addition to the people that you meet, and the people that you get to work with on a daily basis, it’s more than worth the money.”

Check out what John has to say about his experience working remotely from Enniscorthy Enterprise Centre.

In Enniscorthy just minutes from the town centre at Enniscorthy Enterprise and Technology Centre there is a long and short-term solution available for remote workers.
